We are making amateur films and we would like to get a nice camcorder to do what we want it to do. We have a price limit of $250.00 and we would like the best camera we could get. We don’t know anything about videocameras, so if you would help us, it would be greatly appreciated!

Most people I talk to say that their HDD camera just shows up as a Hard Drive in their PC. (which is cool) but I also need a good camera for video conferencing where I can have control with zooming and panning.
On a side note, one thing I’ve found is that in order to use a camcorder as a webcam it must have USB Streaming capablities. But I have yet to find any, in fact most of the Hard Drive Cameras I’ve found are only the usb interface, so I thought all would support this sweet feature.
Ideally I would like the Camcorder to be at least 30gigs with good optics, long battery life, view finder (which is also hard to find with the HDD Cameras) and good night vision. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i know the more expensive panasonic hi def camcorders for about $1400 have a manual ring on it that can adjust depth and zoom and shutter speed and iris and all sorts of stuff. but do any other camcorder brands have that too.
